Before explaining the "switching regulated power supply adapter" (referred to as the switching power supply adapter), let's first explain the "power adapter".
Generally speaking, the power adapter can be divided into two categories: direct power adapter and indirect power adapter. Of course, the output of the power adapter is electrical energy. Another direct power adapter that people come into contact with daily is the electrochemical power adapter. Dry batteries and accumulators are typical representatives. Although the electric energy provided by this kind of power adapter occupies a very small proportion, it is more and more closely related to people. Although the chemical energy stored in the storage battery and some rechargeable dry batteries is obtained from the charging of the power adapter, the electrical energy during use (discharge) is directly converted from the chemical energy, so these power adapters are still direct Power Adapter.
In addition to the power adapters provided by the public grid and batteries, the power adapters obtained from diesel generators, wind generators, and solar batteries are also classified as direct power adapters here.

Switching power adapter circuit is a kind of power electronic circuit. Electricity is usually divided into two categories: alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).

In practice, the range covered by the switching power supply adapter is much smaller than the range in the table. For example, the phase control circuit in the rectifier circuit does not belong to the scope of the switching power supply adapter.
