The first step is to check the connection of the power adapter.
Turn off the computer, remove the power adapter from the computer, and plug it in again; then re-plug the connection between the adapters. Check whether the LED light of the power adapter is on.
If it does not light up, try to replace a known good adapter for use. If it lights up, the next step is to check the status of the power adapter in the BIOS.
Plug the power adapter into the system and an outlet, and restart your computer. After you see the Dell Logo after booting up, tap F2 several times to enter the BIOS interface.
Expand the General option and select Battery Information to view the status of the power adapter. If the adapter is not recognized, you can contact our technical support staff to solve it.
If it can be recognized normally, then the next step is to try to update the system BIOS through SupportAssist.
First, open SupportAssist by typing and selecting SupportAssist in the search box. Find Get Drivers and Downloads and select Run. SupportAssist will automatically detect all available updates. Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the subsequent operations.
