The hazards of salt spray corrosion

　　Salt spray corrosion will destroy the metal protective layer, make it lose its decoration and reduce the mechanical strength; some electronic components and electrical circuits, due to corrosion, cause power lines to be interrupted, especially in an environment with vibration, which is particularly serious;

　　When the salt spray falls on the surface of the insulator, the surface resistance will decrease; after the insulator absorbs the salt solution, its volume resistance will decrease by four orders of magnitude;

　　The movable parts of mechanical parts or moving parts are caused by corrosion, which increases friction and causes the moving parts to be stuck;

　　European standard power adapter salt spray test classification

　　The salt spray test is divided into two categories, one is the natural environment exposure test, and the other is the artificial accelerated simulated salt spray environment test. Compared with the natural environment, the chloride concentration in the artificial salt spray environment can be several or tens of times the salt spray content of the general natural environment, and the corrosion speed is greatly improved. The salt spray test of the charger is performed to obtain the result. Also greatly shortened. For example, a sample of a charger is tested in a natural exposure environment, and it may take 1 year for its corrosion, while the test under artificial salt spray environment conditions requires only 24 hours to obtain similar results.

　　Artificial simulated salt spray test includes neutral salt spray test, acetic acid salt spray test, copper salt accelerated acetic acid salt spray test, and alternating salt spray test.

　　01: Neutral salt spray test

　　It is the earliest and most widely used accelerated corrosion test method. Under normal circumstances, it uses 5% sodium chloride salt aqueous solution, the pH value of the solution is adjusted in the neutral range (6.5 ~ 7.2) as the spray solution. The test temperature is 35℃, and the sedimentation rate of the salt spray is required to be between 1～3ml/80cm2.h, and the sedimentation volume is generally between 1～2ml/80cm2.h.

　　02: Acetate spray test

　　It was developed on the basis of the neutral salt spray test. It is to add some glacial acetic acid to 5% sodium chloride solution to make the pH value of the solution drop to about 3, the solution becomes acidic, and the final salt spray also changes from neutral salt spray to acid. Its corrosion rate is about 3 times faster than the NSS test.

　　03: Copper salt accelerated acetic acid salt spray test

　　It is a kind of rapid salt spray corrosion test recently developed abroad. The test temperature is 50℃. A small amount of copper salt—copper chloride is added to the salt solution to strongly induce corrosion. Its corrosion rate is approximately 8 times that of the NSS test.

　　04: Alternating salt spray test

　　It is a comprehensive salt spray test, which is actually a neutral salt spray test plus a constant damp heat test. It is mainly used for the whole charger of the cavity type. Through the penetration of the humid environment, the salt spray corrosion is not only generated on the surface of the charger, but also inside the charger. It alternately converts the charger under two environmental conditions: salt spray and damp heat, and finally checks whether the electrical and mechanical properties of the whole charger have changed.
